To be a great band, you need a great product.  More than that, you need to sell your product.  Your band bio is the first step toward getting people interested in you and your music.

A good band bio is like a firm handshake which you offer to your fans and every person you contact in the music business – album reviewers, booking agents, PR persons, and the like.   Any serious band will want to make a positive first impression through a well written band biography.

You want people as excited as you are about your music.  The worst thing you can do is have no biography at all.  This leaves your potential listeners and promoters clueless and frustrated.  That would be like knocking on someone’s door and simply standing there silent with CD in hand.  They might take the time to listen and figure you out; or maybe they’ll just shut the door.

Amazing music without a decent introduction is akin to a supermodel in a baggy sweat suit – something that could be incredible if it ever got a first glance.  A professional biographer (which I am not) will charge a couple hundred dollars to create an incredibly awesome verbal commercial for you and your music.  I am simply asking that you buy me (the monetary equivalent of) a few beers while I spend time arranging your most important and interesting points into a coherent, engaging series of paragraphs.

Think of me as an experienced friend who has a knack for presentation.  You order some brews while I polish your profile.  We end the night by drinking to our mutual success.

Cheers!
